Boise Pride 2023

Last Sunday, I hopped in the car at 3 o’clock in the morning to make it to Boise in time for the parade – and it was the best trip I’ve made in months!
This year’s Boise Pride surprised me for a couple reasons.
First – after last year’s culture war hysterics, I was so glad to see the crowd was as big as ever.
Second, I was AMAZED by how many people remembered me from last year, cheered me on as I passed them during the parade, and asked for a photo after. (Check out some pics farther down.)
I left Boise on Sunday feeling grateful and proud – proud of our community, proud of our youth, and proud of every parent who came out to support their kids.
Longtime supporters know that the fight for LGBTQ+ equality is one of my biggest reasons for getting into this race, and my previous race for Senate. What good is our representation in Congress if it doesn’t reflect the real diversity of our state and our country?
This campaign has the chance to make history in 2024. After you elect me next November, I will become the first openly gay man from Idaho to serve in Congress.
But this isn’t about me alone.
The next group of freshmen in Congress will have the power to determine the course of our nation’s future, and whether or not members of the LGBTQ+ community – my community – will have a place in it.
Conversations about the rights and safety of LGBTQ+ Americans should not be had without more of us in the room to represent, defend, and PROTECT our community.
